In my two seasons as a Toronto Blue Jays fan, I’ve learned a lot about the game but more about the human spirit. We chose who to be. We can let mistakes and defeats crush us or we can shake them off, learn from them, and face the next challenge. I watch baseball players make some, at times silly, errors in one play and completely redeem themselves in the next. On the flip side, they make plays that seem almost impossible and surprise themselves as well as commentators and fans.
Such lessons translate so easily into stories and Hollywood takes full advantage of it. This time, the lesson is Trouble With the Curve, a movie about father and daughter relationships with Clint Eastwood playing an aging baseball scout and Amy Adams as his grown daughter. Trouble With the Curve hits the theaters on September 21. Mark your calendars!
